To get the negatives out of the way first. The parking pads are narrow. They need to be widened. Some sites are not level front to back but are fine for trailers and fifth wheels which can be lowered at the front end. The monthly rate in the summer is about $400 higher than in the winter. Now to the good stuff. We have been here three years in a row and love this park. We are full timers and come back every year to see friends, family and our doctors. We treat this as our home base. The management and office staff are about the most friendly people that we have ever come across. They will go out of their way to help make your stay a pleasant one. The park just has a friendly, comfortable feel to it. The location is perfect for staying in the Portland area. There are lots of shopping and services available nearby. We did not have to sign a 4 page lease agreement to spend a month here like we did at that park in Fairview! We don't get kicked out one day a month like in that park in Wilsonville either. Oh, by the way, they even have beveled leveling boards available for free if you need them. We will definitely return next year.

This park is actually an excellent one for overnighters or those staying a week or so. As others have reported, it has paved roads and cement parking pads with grass and a table. Nearly all of the sites are pull throughs and most will handle the largest RVs. It has a duck pond with up to 35 ducks on it at any one time and a sturgeon that must be close to 5 feet long. The reason that I have rated this park so low is that things are different if you want to spend a month or longer there. In that case, they make you sign a 4-page lease agreement with an attached two pages of dog rules and an additional page of rules for the kids. They want you to have $30,000 worth of liability insurance for your pad! They want not only your license number but your VIN number. They want copies of your vehicle registrations and insurance policies. And it goes on and on! We have fulltimed all over the country and spent a month or longer at many parks and never have we had to give this much information! By the way, they also charge you for a credit check and a criminal check (for both of you). Their list of rules go on and on and on but are very selectively enforced. Examples are the 10 year rule and current vehicle license tags. There were several dozen rigs that were up to 25 - 50 years old or with expired tags from several years ago. I guess that as long as you pay the rent you can stay. But then why have the rules? We will definitely not be back. There are other parks in the greater Portland area that do not treat you like this.

This is a nice looking park and the managers were nice but it is strangely laid out. The sites are pullouts along each side the road. These are a bit short for big rigs to pull in and get straightened out so that one end is not sticking into the road. They told us which direction to drive on the road so that our door was opening toward the grass. This meant that the utilities are on the wrong side of the RV and you have to add extensions in order to reach under the rig to the connections. Our site required us to drive up onto 4" of boards and put blocks under our jacks in order to get level.

This is a fairly nice RV park associated with a motel complex. The sites are separated by fences which are nice since the sites are pretty narrow. We were able to get our big rig into the site and get the slides out. We had a problem finding a place to park the toad. Some people park the cars or pickups along the roads which can create a problem getting around. There are trees that shade the sites although we were able to sight down the road and use our satellite dish. There was one long term RV where four young men stayed up all night and talked. They went to bed at 8:00 am. The managers didn't do anything about it that night but did talk to them the next day and it did not happen again.

This park cost us $32.55 Canadian or $28.84 US. We had a big rig with three slides and the site we were put in was pretty narrow. The branches of the adjacent trees were on the roof and both sides of the motorhome. The sites were plenty long but there is a drainage ditch that we were instructed to straddle with our wheels. This park is just barely adequate as an overnight stop. We will probably not return.

This is a park just off I-29 which is associated with a truck stop, convenience store and gas station. You are very near the highway and have no problem hearing the vehicles go by. Each site has a gravel pad with a cement patio. All sites are pull through. There are some very small trees so there is no shade but you will have no problem with a satellite dish. This makes a decent over night stop but that's about all. Their web site lists the overnight charge as $20 but when we got here they had raised it to $25 with no discounts available.

This is a nice open campground. They have 30 and 50 amp electric available along with water but no sewer. The roads and parking sites are gravel with grass along side. There are small trees but they do not provide much shade. I used my satellite dish here. There is a river along one side but you cannot see it and have to walk a trail to get to the riverbank. You get a picnic table and a fire pit at each site. They charge a dollar Canadian for the showers which is unusual when they do not provide a sewer connection. Our experience has been that parks only charge for the shower when they provide sewer at the site. Secondly, they have two sewer dumps in the park and both are non-conventional. One is what appears to be an RV site that you must pull into nose first so that the connection is on the correct side, but there is no outlet. This means that you must back out in order to leave the sewer dump. The other site in right in front of the office. You must pull into it going against the traffic flow so that the connection is on the correct side here too. You can then pull out just fine as long as no new customer is in line waiting for you to leave.

I agree with the previous posters. This is a nice family park with long, wide sites that will handle any size rig. I would have rated it higher if the managers had enforced their rules better. We saw several unleashed dogs and our site had a broken whiskey bottle in the fire pit and a smashed beer can in a tree. Their rules prohibit drunken activities. Otherwise it is a park that we would come back to.

This is a decent park that fills up on the weekends. It is heavily treed so you cannot use your satellite dish in most cases although this keeps you in the shade which is nice in the summer. The streets and parking pads are dirt and gravel so it gets muddy when it rains. Lots of "campers" here with camp fires in the evenings. There are quite a few long termers here and not enough room to park the tow cars so the roads can get a bit narrow at times. The pool is heavily used and even by people from the local area who are not camping here (they are charged to use the pool). The managers are nice and the park is fairly quiet. You can hear highway noise but it is not obtrusive.

This was our first time staying at an Escapee's park. We were in a back in site up on the hill. The sites were nicely wide. The picnic tables are wood and very old. They are not flat on top and have lots of splinters. You park on gravel that has grown in with grass. We could use use our satellite dish with no problem in this area. I agree with other posters that this park is showing its age and has not had much money put back into it but for $13.50 per night I guess I can understand it. By the way, you pay extra for electricity for even one night's stay.

This park worked well for an overnight stop. It is an old KOA and the sites and roads are all a sea of gravel. We just fit between the trees and utility connection with our 39' triple slide RV. One unusual feature of this park is that you pull through one site to get to the front site. This means that if they fill the back site then that person will have to back out if the people in the front site haven't left yet. The pool looked sparkling clean and the office was nice. I would come back for another overnight stay.

This is a nice park that is used by families and campers who like to have fires rather than an actual RV park. The sites are gravel and those on the outer side of the road drop down and then level off. Unfortunately for us we have a 39' motorhome and needed to use blocks under the rear wheels in order to get level. They did not make the level area long enough. Otherwise the park is fine.

We were here for a rally. We thought it was nice that the camping area is all on grass. Everything is green with some trees around. You have a utility post with connections for four rigs so it forces you to either park in a spoke fashion or to be backed up closely to the other rigs. There is only 30 amp power. The big problem is that the RV parking areas do not have any gravel which means that when it rains it gets muddy and you get stuck. About 70% of the RVs here for the rally had to be towed out to the road and it was not paid for by the fairgrounds. I would not go back unless I was absolutely certain that it would not rain. For the amount that we were charged I believe that the fairgrounds should invest in some gravel or drain tile.

This is a decently nice park with concrete roads and parking. They also have concrete parking spots for your car. They have increased the amount of concrete around some of the sites and hope to continue adding more in the future. There is a fishing pier but you cannot access the lake shore from the campground. They have a swimming pool but it is more like an overgrown hot tub with water jets than a pool. The roads have been patched with a slurry that is either breaking up or has raised part of the road elevation several inches. It appears that the original concrete was not poured deep enough to carry the weight of large RVs. There are no trees in the park so you do not have to worry about satellite reception but it allows the wind to really attack your rig. You will not ever be able to safely put out an awning. They charge extra for cable TV. The Wi-Fi is free and works fine as long as there are not too many people on it as is the case with other parks too. The park was virtually full in the winter but emptied out by April 1st so that it is virtually empty after that date. For their sake, I hope they do not go broke. Three months business per year is not much. The amenities such as clubhouse, library and rec room close on April 14th and you have to get the manager to let you in if you want to use those facilities. There is an activity director but it is just a work camper (not a professional) who leaves about the first of April. There are some real cliques during the winter. It is so bad that one woman told us to use certain washers and dryers and it turned out that they were the worst operating ones in the laundry. She also told my wife to limit her laundry to 2 units even though the park rules did not say this and she was using 4 units herself. It just was not a welcoming environment like we have had elsewhere. Having said that, the managers are on site now and are very nice.

A nice park that was conveniently half way between El Paso and San Antonio. It has gravel sites and roads. It is pretty popular and fills up most nights during the winter season. There are nice picnic table with benches. The office staff is very friendly. We would return again.

Nice, clean park. The area is all gravel and is raked daily and looks very good. We stayed in the 50 amp pull through sites which have cement strips for the tires. Unfortunately the cement was not wide enough for our jacks so the jacks were on the gravel. We had a view of the city and mountains without being on the front row. KOAs are expensive compared to other parks but that was all that sounded decent on this web site so we stayed here.

This is a decent RV park of about 165 sites surrounded by lots and lots of mobile homes. There are a few shade trees or you can be in sites with no trees if you need satellite. Sites are level and the staff was friendly. Watch out for the major bump coming out of the registration parking lot. I would have rated this park higher except for two things. The air force base and the national guard base fly a lot of planes and the park is about a half mile from the Tucson airport. Also, this park is definitely in a poor neighborhood. There is a wall about 4' high that runs along the park and next to a major through street with lots of vacant and poorly maintained houses along the street. I do not feel as safe here as I would if it were sited elsewhere. We will probably try another park when we return to the Tucson area.

This is our second year of full-timing and we decided to stay 3 months at Canyon Vistas. This park has no trees because it is in the desert! There is a small green way that runs the length of the park that does have trees however. There are coyotes, rabbits, snakes, etc. that come in from the adjacent desert so they keep the landscaping to a minimum. The parking area is gravel which really helps to keep the dust down. There is a cement patio that is huge. The hookups are at the back. The roads are paved. Power is steady and right at 120 volts, water pressure is very good. There is lots of lime in the water (as there is in the entire region) so you should get a water softener. There is Wi-Fi but not nearly enough antennas for the size of the park. We have satellite Internet so this is not an issue for us. They also have a computer room where you can use their computers and access the Internet. You have a great view of the Superstition Mountains. The short-time area is separate from the long term area. We have never been to a park that has people who are as friendly as here. That goes for both the management and the guests. There are not the obvious cliques that often develop. People stop and talk to you, they wave as you walk by, you are invited to join in on the activities, etc. There is no way that you can be bored here with all of the activities available to you in the park. This park is not in the middle of a city, like most are in the valley, but you are only about 8 miles from Mesa and all of the shopping and eating places that it offers. We will definitely return. By the way, the parks are not full this year.

You take what you can when there is no other choice, and we are a long way from anywhere in Tonopah. The sites are not level side to side and it only has 30 amp power. We are parked on pavement and can use our satellite dish. There is a garbage can between each site which is handy. The man in the cashier's booth was very nice.

This is just an average park with nothing special. It is an old KOA with gravel roads and sites. The utilities are side by side so you end up just a couple feet from your neighbor. You do get a picnic table, and the managers are nice. I would not return if I could find anything better in Winnemucca.

This is a decent park. It is gravel everywhere with nothing to determine the edge of each site. The sites are mostly on a slope from front to back (or vice versa) but are level side to side. There are some really neat red rock formations right beside the park. They have some shade trees that are only 20' high or so but we were able to use our satellite with no problem. No tables or fire grills. We stayed here several days while we toured the area. We lucked out and had a bunch of hot air balloons pass overhead while we were here. That was pretty neat. The registration parking is not well marked. I recommend that you immediately turn left after entering the park. This will put you beside the office.

We visited this park on the last day that they were open for the season. We would have stayed longer if they had been open longer. The campground is one mile from the highway on a nicely graded gravel road so it is very quiet. Lots and lots of stars! The spaces are gravel and are satellite friendly. We will definitely return.

This is a very nice RV park near to Portland. It has long pull throughs with paved sites. The higher numbered sites are shaded by huge fir trees and the lower numbered sites are good for those who need satellite access. I would have rated it a 10 except for the width of the paving since most rigs now have slideouts. This makes you walk on the grass which is always wet. We will definitely return.

We put the rate down for a single night with 50 amp electrical and a Good Sam discount. The weekly rate is $160. This is a nice, clean and quiet park with gravel roads and parking sites. The pull throughs angle off the access roads so that you do not actually have another rig beside you. There is also plenty of separation. There is lush green grass all around your rig. No trees however but that is fine for our satellite. We would have rated this park a 10 if the picnic table had been full sized with benches on both sides and if the garbage cans had been at both ends of the park rather than just near the park exit. The owners are nice and friendly and have only owned this park for about a month and a half. They are working on improving the park. I said there was no pool but there is one which needs lots of repairs so it is not available now. I don't understand the prior review. There is no evidence of a stream through the middle of the park. We had no problems with the turns on the roads with our 39' motorhome and toad and there were no flower barrels around the roads. This is a great little park and is near to a lot of fishing and other sights. Be sure to take in Bannack Ghost Town nearby. We would definitely return.

This is one of our favorite Oregon State Parks. It has lots of green grass and the sites are not too close together. There is plenty of room for slideouts. The view from some of the sites is outstanding. You can see the Columbia River with its barge traffic and the occasional windsurfer. You can see the trains that travel the Washington side of the river. There is also a train that travels just below the bluff on the Oregon side of the river just below the park. This one does create some noise because there is a trail from the park to the river and they blow their horn to warn the hikers. I don't mind this noise at all and in fact enjoy it. A couple of points that surprised me are that they only have 30 amp power and they do not have a sewer connection that seals. They use the old opening that bends parallel with the ground and you have to take the connector off your hose and cram the flexible hose down the tube. I thought this had been outlawed years ago. Anyway, it is a beautiful park and we will definitely be back.

We have been to this park several times and now that it is under new ownership we have noticed that they have really spruced it up. We were in the upper loop and noticed that the water pressure was pretty bad. The parking spots are all concrete and many have a parking spot for the car right beside the RV spot. The problem is that the RVs have gotten longer and wider with slides so that many people cannot get their car parked at the site. They will let you park your car or pickup against the bluff in sites that are not used as much but that doesn't work if they get full. In spite of this we will go back. It has a great location and getting to the beach is not all that bad except for crossing Hwy 101.

This is a nice park. They charge $16 on weekdays and $19 on weekends and you get water and 50 amp electricity. There are no large trees in the East campground which is for RVs so your satellite dishes will work fine. You park on asphalt and the spaces are nicely separated. There is a picnic table at each site as well as a fire pit. This brings up a point that some people should be aware of. People use this park as a "campground" so there is smoke from the campfires and people sit around drinking. They can get pretty noisy and stay up well after quiet hours. This is generally only a problem on weekends however. I would have rated this park a 10 if they had sewer connections at the site and if the park hosts or rangers had enforced quiet hours.

This is a great park! We stayed here for a month and loved it. The staff is very nice and even called me when mail arrived. We are parked on gravel and the roads are gravel. There is grass between the sites which are nicely separated. There are 100 year old apple trees around but they are not high enough to block our satellite. We have a beautiful view of mountains on about 3 sides. The showers and bathrooms are about the cleanest that we have ever seen! They allow tenters behind one row of RVs and the tenters are WAY too close to the back of the motorhomes. They should move the tenters elsewhere (they have the space). One nice thing about the park is that they have a place to park your rig after checkout so that you can do something else that day and then pick up your RV. They also have a spot for overnight or longer storage of your RV. We would definitely return! :)

Nice park with all of the amenities. It has some shade trees but it was easy to point our satellite dish and get service. We could see Pikes Peak from our rig which was pretty neat. It has a nice laundry room. The price is high but you are in a tourist area.

Nice park. Gravel roads and parking pads. They have put down fresh gravel where needed which shows they are maintaining the park. Mostly open, so our satellite worked just fine. The wind can be pretty fearsome with the thunderstorms, so we actually closed our slides and put down our satellite dish one night. Then we used the camp's cable tv and their wireless Internet to keep track of the storm. I would return.

This is a great park and I would have given it a 10 except for the mosquitoes. They water the grass every night which seems to give the mosquitoes a good place to breed. You couldn't be outside without a screen room. Otherwise we loved it. It is within walking distance of the Grizzly/Wolf Discovery Center which I heartily recommend. The pull through sites are long and will handle any size rig. You should have reservations however! The staff is friendly and accommodating. It is also satellite friendly. I would definitely return.

Very nice manager/owner! I would have rated the park higher except they have side by side hookups which put the RVs really close together. Gravel roads and parking sites with grass outside your door. Picnic table and grill at each site. Trees don't really shade you very much. They are at the end of the 70' pullthroughs.

Nice park. We had a bit of difficulty getting here because our GPS said to take exit 2B when we should have taken 2A. The park is a bit noisy and vibrates due to the trains, but we are in an urban setting after all. The grass was green. I liked that we could pull in with the toad still hooked up. We had planned on just an overnight but ended up staying three nights and doing some sightseeing so we unhooked the toad after all. Please note that there are only two washers and two dryers in the laundry. I agree with other posters that the staff is friendly and helpful. We would stay here again.

Nice, quiet park. You park on gravel but the sites are flat. Many sites are in the trees but they also have a section that is open if you need it for your satellite. They were repaving the access road and area around the office while we were there. We were hoping that they would do the camp loops and (wishful thinking) the parking pads but that didn't happen. This isn't specific to this campground but I sure wish that the campgrounds would not charge full rates when they don't have all their services available (such as swimming pool). Anyway, this is a nice park and we already have reservations to go back.

Basic campground. Gravel roads and parking pads with grass in between. The pull thoughs were probably 70 feet long! We could self register and pick our own sites. We chose one out in the open so our satellite would work. Beautiful view of a large grass field and hills behind. This campground is not near anything, but is a good place to stop for the night. We would stay here again.

I agree with the previous reviewers. This is the place to be if you are going to go into Washington DC. The Metro bus stop in the campground is perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. There are a few rough spots however. You can wait 15 minutes or longer for help in the office because the staff are all tied up giving advice to other people about how to use the transit system. It would be nice if they had at least one person that was not used for advice and could be dedicated to helping check in other people or to take our money for store purchases. The roads are paved but the sites are gravel. For the money that we are paying I would expect paved or cement parking pads too. We had lots of ants in the gravel around our site. Cement would have kept them away from our rig. The grass is in poor condition and was over 8" high around our rig. They finally cut it with a weed whacker which made a mess all over the sides of our motorhome and made the grass look uneven. They did not pick up the 8"clippings either. It rained while we were there and we had several inches of rainwater pooled on the grass. There are tall trees around but they do not shade most RVs because their placement is wrong. The water fill is PVC plastic and sits up 12" to 18" and is not supported. Watch out that you don't break yours. There is a lot of freeway noise and sirens all night long. Please be aware that some of the pull throughs in the back have side by side hookups which makes it pretty close for rigs with slides on both sides. They will not give weekly or monthly rates in March or later. Having said all of the above, the location is good, the staff is friendly and I would go back unless they get some competition in the area.

This City park has a lot of potential. The sites are fairly level and are on gravel. They are wide, and will handle large rigs with slides on both sides. There are trees for shade in the heat. The check in process was uneventful although they are remodeling the office currently. We asked for a site that would accommodate satellite TV and Internet and they assigned us to a site that had a screen of trees to the south which didn't work. We looked around and found a site that would work and went to the office to see if we could move. The office was closed so we went to the camp hosts. They were very nice and allowed the move. (This is one of my objections of municipal parks. There is no one there with any authority after normal business hours.) Unfortunately for us we ended up close to the long term renters. Even worse is that the camp next to us had two Harleys. The man started his up at 5:55 am and it had no muffler. It was the noisiest Harley that I have ever heard. Then he let it idle for about 5 - 10 minutes as he revved it up to get it to run since it was missing so badly. Finally he went to work. We complained to the office later and they apparently gave him a warning notice but said they could not kick him out since he was monthly. He also worked on his Harleys (he has two) during the day on Sunday. Being around the long termers is a different experience than being with the overnighters. This campground also allows campfires. This may be a plus for you but it can be a pain if you are downwind. We would consider coming back to this campground but only if we could park with the overnighters.

We camped in site 28 which was an end site near the lake. We could only have one rig next to us and no one could be between us and the lake. There were not a lot of people in the campground (other than the monthly ones) so we did not have anyone next to us. There was a lot of activity each day with people launching boats and fishing but it was fun to watch. They had a bass tournament over the weekend and it was interesting to watch them weigh the fish. Anyway, the campground was decent and the rate was right. We would come back.

We camped in site #78 and it was fairly level. The roads definitely need grading and the addition of some gravel. They were pretty muddy. The sites are long enough that we did not have to disconnect our toad which was nice since it was raining heavily and we were only here for the night. They are also plenty wide enough for slides. We could use our satellite dish with no problem.

We pulled in to this park after a long day on the road. We have a 39 foot motorhome and could not get it level in the site. I lifted the rear wheels six inches off the ground and was still not level. This is an old KOA and is in a sad state of disrepair. We got our money back and drove a few miles to Pinecone Campground. I can't imagine how they expect to get $32 for these sites. The manager did not offer another site. It appeared to us that he didn't care if we were there or not.

This is a park with two sections. We stayed in the lower section which wasn't too bad. The parking areas were on large concrete pads. There were lots of birds around. We only had 30 amp electric. Watch out for the access to the park. It is NOT at the road where you can see the campground. You must drive down the road to the museum and enter there and then drive back to the campground. Also be careful to get the code to the gate (which they forgot to give us) because they lock the gate at dusk! There is an upper campground which appears to be newer but it is up a very steep access road. I don't know what it would be like to tow a heavy rig up that hill if it were wet. There is a two week limit on stays which appears to be overlooked because they have a lot of workers here who look like they have been here for a while.

Nice park with friendly staff. We loved the area! The pull through sites would be better than the backins because we felt crowded in the backins. The lane behind you is at an angle and the rear of the rig behind is close. We felt jammed together. Everything else was great. Nice laundry, rec center etc.

We also were in site 38. This time of year there weren't many people in the campground so it was very quite. Lots of birds - both around camp and on the water. This is a very nice campground that I would recommend. The only improvement that I would recommend is gravel around the utility hookups. It rained while we were there and the mud was terrible when we had to unhook and leave. We saw lots and lots of deer in the park.

Nice park adjacent to the Mississippi but no view of the river. The cable TV was out along our entire section but they are working on it. Nice concrete parking areas and plenty of width. The new area still needs landscaping. Nice trees but we still could find our satellite.

Nice little park with cement sites and paved streets and grass between. This is the first park that we have found that is fully fenced with security gates that you needed to have a pass card to open at all times. They charged us $20, refundable, for the pass card. Probably 40% of the sites are still used by Katrina trailers and their guests. The park managers do not ever drive through the park. Wifi worked well. No trees so satellite is great too.

This is a great park! We had a spot that faced a stream and a treed area. There are lots of things to do here and the staff is friendly. You park on cement. The trees are small so there is no problem with satellite. Verizon cell phone service is poor however. my only complaint is that is gets cold at night in the winter. We were here for two months (hence the low figure for nightly rate) and loved it. The days are warm and breezy. We will definitely come back but maybe it will be in the shoulder season when the nights are warmer.

Ruthie is great! The rest of the staff is friendly too. Many of the sites are not level their entire length so it is hard to get level if you have a long rig. We put our front wheels in holes (gravel sites) and the rear wheels on blocks and then had to put blocks under our jacks to get us near level. Many sites were this way. Other than that the park has lots of extras and a great store. The staff can sell you tickets to most of the attractions which is nice. We did have some extra dust because of the shopping center construction that is going on immediately behind the park.

The roads are paved but the sites are gravel. There was an ant nest at the base of our water connection and the faucet almost touched the ground. There are trees but we found a hole for our satellite. This park works as an overnight stop while traveling but I would not want to stay for any length of time.

This park is associated with an RV sales and service center. The streets and sites are concrete with grass between. The sites are a bit narrow especially when turning into them from the street. There are lots of shade trees. The Cabelas is right across the street.

This is a nice park with a great location if you are visiting Lincoln, NE. The sites are quite long and plenty wide and are gravel. There are nice green grass strips between the sites and picnic tables. They charge you $10 to wash your rig at the site.

This is a nice park with nice managers. Most of the sites are pull throughs and the ones toward the back have smaller trees and the ones toward the front have larger trees. This can be important if you have a satellite dish. The sites are wide enough for our triple slide rig and still be able to walk on the pavement. I would recommend this park.

This is a nice enough park. The sites are level and everything is gravel. The little grass that exists is thin and dry. My only complaint is that much of the things available at the park (such as the restaurant) were closed in October but the rates were still the summer rate. We felt that they should have lowered the rate when they shut down all the extras. There are no trees so satellite service was no problem. It was very windy when we were there.

There are a lot of permanent RVs in this park and they get up early and go to work. We had a side by side utility hookup which we don't normally like but the site we had was quite wide so we could move away from the hookup and the neighbor which turned out well. The entire park is on gravel and there are no trees so satellite is no problem. The manager was nice.

This was a nice little park and quiet when we were there. It is along the North Platte River. There was grass between the sites but you parked on gravel. We really liked this little park but the only concern that we had was the number of hunters that drove slowly through the park. We expected a gun to go off any time.

We loved this park. We were here in the fall and there were at least 800 Canada geese on the lake. The sites are on grass and you park right up against the lake. We liked it so well that we ended up extending our stay.

This was a nice park with lots of grass. The streets and parking was on pavement. There were quite a few trees but we found a site where we could use our satellite. This would be a great park for a family and I imagine that it it quite busy in the summer.

The rate is $27.59 for 30 amp service and $29.57 for 50 amp service. They have a ring of tall trees that surround the park and provide nice shade but it interferes with the use of a satellite. The streets and parking are paved and there is grass between the sites. They are quite long as well.

This is a large park but it is nice. The staff was friendly too. The sites and streets are paved. We could get satellite service. It was close to the Family History Library.

The neat thing about Peach Beach is that there are peaches that you can pick off the trees behind your RV if you hit the right dates. You can also use this as a base to fish the Columbia River from. The sites are gravel but they are level. Nothing fancy but the price is right. This is our second stay here.

We had planned on going to the nearby state park but there were no available sites where we could get satellite service and the rates were pretty steep so we ended up here. This is a small park with gravel sites and roads that worked well for an overnight stop. It is across the street from and owned by a winery which may appeal to some. We could watch them harvest the grapes from the window of our RV.

This is a wonderful little known park. It is an oasis of green grass and trees in the Oregon high desert. We discovered it as we were driving through Dayville and ended up spending a week there. It is a great home base for touring the various units of the John Day Fossil Beds. It is very quiet and the managers are nice. I would recommend it!

The park was less than half full on the days immediately before the FMCA convention nearby. The rates are way too high for what you get which is fairly typical of KOAs. The roads and parking are all dusty gravel with no grass around. There are other campgrounds in the area that are cheaper by far with less dust.

Very nice park. It is on the bend of a canal and there is a walking trail along the dike. The sites are all concrete and the roads are paved. There is green grass all around. We liked it so well that we came back two weeks later and stayed here again.

This is a nice park with level sites near a casino. We actually came out ahead (a first) at the casino. It is quiet and had killer sunsets when we were there. I would go back.

We started full timing in March 2007. We were not very happy with this park but waited until we had visited several other similar parks before submitting this review. The Portland Fairview RV Park is a nice looking park with over 400 sites. The grounds are nicely kept with green grass between the rigs. The streets are paved and the parking areas are concrete. There are quite a few parking areas that have broken concrete which have sunk several inches. Be careful when walking around your rig. There are only two laundry rooms for all 407 sites so you may have to walk a ways or drive to do laundry. The park only has limited parking spots around the laundry room and they are often taken by someone parking an extra car. Please be aware that there is a main line railroad immediately behind the park. Trains go by about once an hour day and night. The only good part of this is that they generally do not blow their horns as they go by. We have gotten used to the noise of the trains and do not mind them too much although I have talked to others who have moved to another park because of the trains. This park is also under the flight path for Portland International Airport. Again, the noise isn’t too loud but you may think otherwise. About three quarters of the park is able to use satellite dishes. The rest of the sites are blocked either by trees or a bluff. I do have a major complaint with the management of the park. If this park had managers as nice as those at Portland RV Park in Tualatin, then I would consider returning when I am back in the Portland area. However that is not the case. The rules are very arbitrarily enforced. Here are some examples. “Your pet’s mess is your mess, so please clean it up immediately.” This is a park with a huge majority of long term residents. Our immediate neighbor has a dog which she lets out on a leash to do its business. She cleans up the messes about once a week. Guess where the dog leaves its deposits – at the edge of its range, which is right next to my rig. I have to watch for land mines whenever I go out to drain my tanks. Not fun! “Dogs and cats must be on a leash at all times while outside your RV.” There are lots of cats that roam around who belong to the residents. There are two in the site two spaces from me. One went into heat and we were kept awake at night by the howling. Both of them spray all around to mark their territory. I have seen them spray the neighbor’s folding camp chairs, their steps and the lawn sign that they put out. They also spray the utility posts. Yuk! I have seen the cats stalk the many birds that are around too. Speaking of birds, there is a parrot at a rig two rows away from me. The owner puts it outside in a cage every day where it calls and whistles all day long. We can easily hear it inside our rig with the doors closed. I can imagine what it would be like if we were parked next door! The managers allow this but would not allow a dog to howl and whine outside every day. Why is this allowed? “No storage of any type on your lot, only patio furniture allowed.” There are sites with large Rubbermaid storage sheds immediately behind or beside the RV. This is very unsightly. “RVs: Only modern, fully self-contained RVs are allowed.” “All autos must be registered with the Office, in good working order and with current tags.” There is a fifth wheel trailer whose license expired in 1999 and a very old Wanderlodge whose license tags expired in 1998. The Wanderlodge has terrible paint and a flat tire. “No lubrications, oil changes, fabrication, body work, painting, etc., on site, except by professional mobile repair companies…” There is also a trailer that looks older than the trailer in the movie Long, Long Trailer parked in the park. One weekend the owners spray painted the entire outside of the trailer while it was 25 feet from a beautiful late model Hitch Hiker fifth wheel. The wind was blowing that day too. The park manager drove by while they were doing this and did not stop them. I sure would not have wanted to be parked next to them while this was going on! The rules which are strictly enforced are the parking rules. There are only about 5 overflow parking sites for the entire park. We had a service mechanic come by and install a satellite dish for us. I moved my car to a site next door which had been vacant for two months! The manager came by and told me to move the car. Another time, my sister came by to show me her new car. She parked behind my rig where she was partly into the road. We were standing there by the car talking when the manager came by again and said she had to move the car. The road area is wide enough that RVs can get by anyway. There is just no tolerance for special circumstances that come up and no where to park the extra cars. This park is unusual in that there is a charge for the cable TV and the Wi-Fi is free. We signed up for the cable TV because we didn’t have our dish yet. The signal quality was terrible! I could get a much better signal with my bat wing antenna than over the cable connection. I complained to the management and they came down with a 13’ Daewoo TV and set it on the utility post. The screen was terribly dusty and they plugged it in and got a picture. Then they said the problem was within my rig. I have a 2007 motorhome and had just moved here from another park where the TV worked just fine. This is a rip-off! The Wi-Fi was down for over 24 hours one time and a week another time! This is a major problem for full-timers who do on-line banking! Now that I have my own TV and Internet dish I don’t have to rely on the park for service. By the way, be sure that you put your sewer hose on a hose support that keeps it above the ground and slopes down to the drain. They are very strict about this. While Portland has some of the best water in the nation, it appears that this park has well water with lots of minerals. The sprinkler system that waters the grass hits the side of the rigs and leaves white water spots as high as the middle of the side hatches on our RV. These do wipe off but they are annoying. Well, that about summarizes my experience with Portland Fairview RV Park. It would be a decent park with different managers. The noise of the trains and airplanes could be tolerated if the managers were more consistent in enforcing the rules. We are full-timing and have relatives in the Portland area. We will be returning every year but will not return to this park. There are several others that will get our business instead. I have sent a copy of this summary to the managers so that they can be made aware that their attitudes will affect their business.
